Imagine an expanse of 52 acres on waterfront agricultural land in beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada. We are blessed to be able to call this place home. Close your eyes and imagine gentle breezes and sweet blossom fragrances, and you have joined us in spring. Summers are short but there is nowhere I would rather be -although the beach just a 5 minute drive away is pretty enticing. Fall is colourful and full of God's bounty. But the winters are cold and crisp -the sun glistening off the snow can make me want to wear sunglasses or stay inside and cuddle by the fire.
3 growing children and this hobby farm (which is what we call it when you cannot seem to make a profit on a farm) have captured our hearts, our wallets and keep us busy.
Home. Home is what this place is and now it is more full with our young fruit tree orchard of organic peaches, pears and apples (more fruit trees to come) in addition to our loving animals.
We have specialty breed chickens with colourful eggs, heritage turkeys, domesticated-barn cats of local mixed heritage and pure bred working Great Pyrenees dogs.
Our home is adjacent to wildlife rich marshlands and within 5 minutes of town.
Occasionally we have u-pick fruit days and on rare occasion baby animals.
The Spring of 2018 we had chicks for sale.
The Summer of 2018 we had more peaches than I knew what to do with.
The Fall of 2018 we had kittens (all cats are now spayed and neutered; thank you to the special people who opened their homes for new kitten additions and the generosity of Cat Action PEI).
The Spring of 2019 is the year of the puppies.
Duke and Daisy are our amazing dogs that keep predators away and are always attentive to anyone that wants to give a pet or belly rub. Proud parents of 11 puppies - Daisy's first litter.
